I love Strategy games, and... hey what's this?

If anyone's been pollowing my Youtube channel for the last week, you should know that I'm a big fan of strategy games. And then I saw this:

If you have an hour and 20 minutes to kill, do watch this, it's a longplay/speedrun of Genghis Khan II. Even though it's the Genesis/Mega Drive version, both that version and the SNES one are basically the same. Seriously, the speed at which he first conquers Mongolia (Using the two player trick) and then conquers the world: It took him a total of only 16 In-game years to conquer everything! I sometimes have the problem of my ruler dying, and that person can do it this quickly? Wow, I live strategy games, but I suck at them :O

It's the Forever Alone dance party! ... or is it?

When I saw this, I knew. I knew that this was what I was looking for someday. I may be forever alone right now, but someday I'll have someone who I'll be really be happy with.
Thanks to Geekyboiwonder from tumblr for lighting this dark day for me.

SOPA and PIPA, the Canadian edition... STOP IT!

It has come to my attention today that the Canadian government wants to do basically what was stopped for now in the US, but since people don'gt seem to care, it's time for me to wake up! I stongly encourage everyone, even if you're NOT Canadian to go to this website: http://openmedia.ca/lockdown . Please sign the petition, since it is very important for us here in Canada. As I've said: This is basically a Canadian PIPA and SOPA, this must NOT come to pass! I signed the petition against SOPA and PIPA while it was going on, it's now up to you guys to help us. If this is not stopped sooner or later... I might not be here anymore to write about stuff...
It's so important that instead of my usual closing, I'll put another link to the website. Read the details over there, it's VERY bad!

My idea for a new Street Fighter Character

I thought to myself: Who hasn't become a street fighter character and would be nice? I told my friends and they totally agreed.
The new character should be Troy! ... What do you mean you don't know who Troy is? It's this guy:
Well, it's true he already has been in a Street Fighter game, but not in the main series, come on Capcom!
(No, this is NOT a serious post, I'll have something much, MUCH more serious later)

Ads on this page? No problem: follow these instructions!

The only reason I put ads in here is in the hope of maybe (read: MAYBE) make an extra buck until I get a job after school, but I do know that many people hate these. Here's the way to remove them:
If you're using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, search for "Adblock Plus", install that extension, then you're done!
If you're using Internet explorer, well... um... Search for Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, install it/them and stop using IE? THEN you can get AdBlock Plus.
Did I just make a weak post? Well they can't all be winners... I'll have something better tomorrow.

ISP's and Canada, and what the f*** is wrong with them.

I've mentioned countless times that other than general lazyness, my other reason for not uploading many videos was the fact that I only have a 50 GB limit of what I can use each month, and I still wonder why? Why do we need such a limit? We have two main internet providers in my area (there are other, but these are the two main.), Videotron and Bell Canada with Sympatico (URGH!). So basically there's very few competition, but you know what 's stupider? And I guarantee that someone will leave a "first world problems" comment someday, but We have the slowest internet connections! Seriously, apparently in Japan they get about 50 Mb/s... on their cellphones! We're lucky if we get 12Mb/s for our computers around here! Seriously, 50$/month for 12Mb/s and 50GB per month... Really? You're really so short on money when you're basically a monopole??? Another thing is cellphone plans here, basically: You need to pay more if you want more time to call... locally! Also, they charge you for incoming text messages... what sense does that make??? My mother has a cellphone, and she never uses it for sending texts, but if she receives one, she gets charged, even if it's spam...
Ladies and gentlemens, when Africa and many third world countries get better stuff in those two departments than us, there is something definitely wrong in this country. Granted that I suppose it's not everybody over there that gets those services. But when we see who's at the head of the government in Canada, is it really a wonder? There are also speculations that any internet laws that pass in the US will automatically apply to Canada, and seeing that we have a major conservative government that it's only goal is to send us back to the 1950s, I'd actually not be surprised if these news became actually true.
Anyways, that's enough ranting for today. I'm not gonna be posting anything tomorrow since I'll be out of town with no internet.
Peace out!

MegaUpload's closing - My thoughts

It's been about two weeks since Megaupload has been closed. The causes have been issued, but disputed by many people on the web. And it's easy to see why, since the operation went without any sort of warning or was there? I sure haven't heard anything.
For the few people that follow my channels, they might know that I had links on my video to LEGAL files on megaupload. There are some of them I still have on my computer or on an external hard drive, others that I will never get back (unless a miracle happens and the FBI temporarily re-opens Megaupload to let people get back legal files), like the corruption patches. Since the were NOT ROMs, but were only patches, they ARE legal, as I've read somewhere (can't remember where).
The worst part is that even though I do have Version 2 of The New Destiny of an Emperor on an external hard drive, it is about 200 MB, and since my ISP REALLY sucks, that's a lot of bandwidth gone in an instant.
So yeah, I am pissed that Megaupload was shut down, but I'm a simple french canadian, what can I do? It's not like the FBI will mind what a guy like me says, especially when I'm pretty sure that there are like a ton of companies from the USA that financed this shutdown campaign, there's no reason why the president of Megaupload would get a harsher sentence that a murderer/rapist/other-disgusting-st00f. There's clearly money going around.
And then these companies wonder why many people won't use their services? They're rebelling against a greater evil. At least that's what I think anyway.
I don't like piracy, but I don't think this was the best course of action. Sure there sould've been more control on Megaupload, but when 1000000 files get uploaded each seconds (note: probably not fact, but it had to be a pretty high number since it was one of the most visited sites on the web), even if you have many moderators and a system to automatically check every file uploaded, some illegal files will STILL pass, and there's not much you can do about it... Good example is Youtube. Most of the times copyrighted stuff gets stopped, but it sometimes get through the system when some slight modifications were made. And that's probably how pirates did it. Maybe there was a few illegal stuff going on, but that doesn't warrant shutting down completely.
Maybe Megaupload will get re-opened someday? I'll keep praying...

Also, yes, I do know about the DDOS attacks on major sites a few minutes after the shutdown. I do not agree 100% with them, but if I was them, I guess I might have followed, but I'm no hacker. I'm studying to be a computer tech, not hacking.
Well, if anyone wants me to talk more about Megaupload, do comment. In the meantime, I'll write on another subject tomorrow.

The black ice, or falling ice, or "verglas" if you prefer.

Looking outside, it's raining ice, or you could say it's a "pluie verglaçante" in french. I always remember 1998 when I see that, since that was the year where the icestorm was so big, a lot of people were forced to leave their homes due to a lack of electricity. I was one of the fortunate kids to lose only lose electricity for one hour, unlike other peoples who losed it for days on end. At that time, that one hour, I was really scared. I seriously didn't want to leave my home, but we didn't need to, so that's good.
Anyways, I do remember that time for two other reasons, these two are minor compared to the other one, but I'd like to share them anyway. I remember I was playing DKC2 when the electricity went out. Before I went scared, I was really pissed, since I was in the final world with no savepoint in the horison (Keep in mind, that was on the actual console!), so when the electricity went back on, I resisted the temptation to go back to that game that I lost, but didn't since we didn't know at the time if the electricity was to stay on or not. Fortunately, it did, and I went back to my game the next day.
The other thing is that most schools where I live never, EVER, close. That was probably the first time in 20 years that they had to shutdown the school network in my region. The kids that actually have power were very happy, since we didn't get school for two weeks! The only other time I remember them closing was when it snowed like three feets in height in a single day, but that was afterwards.
Anyways, I've wrote enough for today. Later!
