I've mentioned countless times that other than general lazyness, my other reason for not uploading many videos was the fact that I only have a 50 GB limit of what I can use each month, and I still wonder why? Why do we need such a limit? We have two main internet providers in my area (there are other, but these are the two main.), Videotron and Bell Canada with Sympatico (URGH!). So basically there's very few competition, but you know what 's stupider? And I guarantee that someone will leave a "first world problems" comment someday, but We have the slowest internet connections! Seriously, apparently in Japan they get about 50 Mb/s... on their cellphones! We're lucky if we get 12Mb/s for our computers around here! Seriously, 50$/month for 12Mb/s and 50GB per month... Really? You're really so short on money when you're basically a monopole??? Another thing is cellphone plans here, basically: You need to pay more if you want more time to call... locally! Also, they charge you for incoming text messages... what sense does that make??? My mother has a cellphone, and she never uses it for sending texts, but if she receives one, she gets charged, even if it's spam...
Ladies and gentlemens, when Africa and many third world countries get better stuff in those two departments than us, there is something definitely wrong in this country. Granted that I suppose it's not everybody over there that gets those services. But when we see who's at the head of the government in Canada, is it really a wonder? There are also speculations that any internet laws that pass in the US will automatically apply to Canada, and seeing that we have a major conservative government that it's only goal is to send us back to the 1950s, I'd actually not be surprised if these news became actually true.
Anyways, that's enough ranting for today. I'm not gonna be posting anything tomorrow since I'll be out of town with no internet.
Peace out!
